    TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. 1. The Loudspeaker should be box type and it's size should be maximum 15 inches X 10 inches.
  2. 2. Maximum capacity of the loudspeaker should be3.5 watts.
  3. 3. As per, Noise pollution (regulation and control) Rules – 2000;
    Ambient Air Quality Standards In Respect Of Noise:-
    Area Code Category of Area / Zone Limits in - dB (A) Leq*
    Day Time Night Time
    (A) Industrial area 75 70
    (B) Commercial area 65 55
    (C) Residential area 55 45
    (D) Silence Zone 50 40
    Note:— (1). Day time shall mean from 6.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. (2). Night time shall mean from 10.00 p.m. to 6.00 a.m. (3). Silence zone is an area comprising not less than 100 metres around hospitals, educational institutions, courts, religious places or any other area which is declared as such by the competent authority. (4). Mixed categories of areas may be declared as one of the four Above mentioned categories by the competent authority.
    * dB(A) Leq denotes the time weighted average of the level of sound in decibels on scale A which is relatable to human hearing.
    A “decibel” is a unit in which noise is measured.
    “A”, in dB(A) Leq, denotes the frequency weighting in the measurement of noise and corresponds to frequency response characteristics of the human ear.
    Leq: It is an energy mean of the noise level over a specified period.”
  4. 4. Restrictions on use of loudspeaker –in the Night time.
  5. 5. The place of loudspeaker mentioned in the application should not be changed without the prior permission of the competent police authority.
  6. 6. Loudspeaker license fees are as follows.
    New application for license Rs. 10 / -
    License for 01 to 07 days Rs. 200/ -
    Renewal for more than 7 days but less than 30 days Rs. 20/ - per day
  7. 7. In breach of the terms and conditions of the license, the Loudspeaker contractor will be subject to legal action under section 131, Mumbai Police Act 1951.
  8. 8. Under section 15, of the Environment (Protection) Act 1986, Breach of any of the provisions of this Act and of an order issued pursuant to that Act, shall be punishable with a term of imprisonment of up to a term of five years and Rs. 1,00,000/- ( Rs. one lakh ).
  9. 9. Adherence to the directions given by the Hon′ble Bombay High court in the PIL no. 173/2010, regarding noise pollution is compulsory. It should be noted that, in the event of non-compliance of the directions given by Hon′ble Bombay High court, appropriate action will be taken against the organiser.

  10. 10. Police have the right to revoke a given license.

I agree that the use of the loudspeaker will be permitted subject to the above mentioned terms and conditions.
